Aeris Scuba Diving Equipment
Aeris scuba is a fairly new player in the SCUBA equipment manufacturing game, but they’ve done well in a relatively short time.
Since Aeris started making dive equipment back in 1998, they’ve captured more than their fair share of testers choice and best buy awards. They may be new, but they know what they’re doing.
Today Aeris offers a full line of dive equipment. Whether it’s fin straps or diver propulsion vehicles, Aeris has it. Here’s a little information about the Aeris line of SCUBA equipment.
Aeris Scuba Regulators
The Aeris line of regulators is definitely geared towards the sport diver. That’s not to say that the regulators aren’t good enough for technical divers; some of their higher end regulators certainly are; but the overall features and styling scream SPORT DIVER to me.
One of the technologies that Aeris offers is the Dry Valve Technology. It’s like a super filter for your first stage to prevent water and contaminates from entering. It’s a great idea and I think all regulators should come standard with it.
Aeris Scuba Buoyancy Compensators
Aeris doesn’t have a massive line of buoyancy compensators, but they do a good job covering the basics.
My personal favorite is the Ocean 5, but then, I’m sort of partial to back-mounted BCs. The Ocean 5 won the Tester’s Choice award and the Best Buy award from ScubaLab.
It’s a great BC for the average sport diver.
They also make a fantastic entry level BC the Sport BC, if you are looking for a beginners BC you cannot go past the Aeris Sport.
Aeris Scuba’s Mask, Snorkel and Fins
Let’s set aside the CompuMask (even though it’s the most awesome dive mask known to man) and talk about Aeris’s regular line of masks.
All of their masks are high quality with silicone skirts and tempered glass. Aeris tends to favor low volume masks which make them easier to purge.
Their snorkels are certainly more durable than most, but snorkels aren’t really that interesting, so let’s move on to fins.
Aeris has a great fin in the Mako. It’s inexpensive and gives you a lot of thrust with little effort.
However, nothing compares to the split fins (Velocity series) when it comes to maximum thrust with minimal effort. The split fins are pricier, but well worth it in my opinion.
Their computers are Nitrox compatible (an essential feature in my opinion) and highly reliable. Aeris also has a couple of dive computers with serious “wow” features.
For example, the Elite T3 can track the pressure of up to three different cylinders even if each cylinder has a different Nitrox mix. You can even check on your buddy’s tank pressure if he/she is diving the Elite T3 too (or at least has the transmitter).
Aeris Scuba Other Stuff
Aeris makes a lot of other good stuff too.
Their diver propulsion vehicle can run for up to 2 hours and has a range of 3 miles (5km) and they offer bags for travel on the plane or on the boat.
You owe it to yourself to take a look at what Aeris has to offer when you’re ready to purchase new dive equipment. They won’t disappoint you.
