Dive Rite Scuba Equipment dive equipment for extreme diving
Dive Rite scuba equipment motto says it all “Equipment for serious divers since 1984.”
You won’t see new open water divers sporting the latest Dive Rite BC. In fact, you won’t even see an advanced diver wearing this coveted gear.
The only divers you’ll see wearing Dive Rite equipment are serious technical divers.
In fact, I once had a cave diving instructor who would refuse to certify anyone who wasn’t wearing Dive Rite scuba equipment. He said that a million things can go wrong in a cave system and he had seen them all, but never with Dive Rite gear.
Here are some of the Dive Rite scuba equipment products:
Dive Rite Scuba Equipment - Regulators
Dive Rite doesn’t have many regulators, but the ones that they offer are built to withstand some major abuse. You won’t find Dive Rite regulators in a variety of fancy colors.
Technical divers really don’t care if a regulator is Deep Sea Blue or Emerald Forrest Green; the only thing they care about is that the regulator is still working at 250 feet (75 m) when the water temperature is 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees C) and they’re kicking against a strong current.
Here are the regulators that Dive Rite offers for extreme situations.
Hurricane The Hurricane is Dive Rite’s flagship regulator. It has passed tests from divers in the field and independent labs and is widely regarded as one of the best regulators in the industry.
The Hurricane uses an overbalanced first stage that increases the regulator’s intermediate pressure as the diver descends to compensate for the dense air that’s flowing through the regulator. In addition, the Hurricane’s first stage is the smallest cold-water regulator on the market.
3000 This regulator is pneumatically balanced and uses a diaphragm system in its first stage. The advantage of a diaphragm system is that it seals the regulator and prevents all kinds of junk from floating into your regulator and messing it up. The 3000 also comes in an optional cold-water model.
Dive Rite Scuba Equipment - Buoyancy Compensators
Dive Rite doesn’t offer any buoyancy compensators per se, but they do offer Backplates, harnesses and wings.
Dive Rite knows that a diver’s BC preferences are as varied as the divers themselves so in order to make their equipment perfect for everyone, Dive Rite offers a range of backplates and accessories so divers can build a buoyancy compensator to suit their needs.
Here are a few of there range:
Classic 360 Dive Rite’s Classic 360 is a doughnut pattern bladder that’s designed to handle twin cylinders. Keep in mind that this product is only the “wings” of the BC. You still need to purchase a backplate and other accessories to make a fully functional buoyancy compensator.
Travel 360 The Travel 360 is about as un-technical as Dive Rite gets. This is a smaller version of the Classic 360. This BC is designed for divers who are making easy dives in warm water.
