Mares Scuba Equipment

Mares scuba equipment has been around for almost 60 years and they’ve built a reputation as leaders in the industry.

Many divers refuse to dive any other brand and with good reason. Mares make everything a diver needs to get wet and all of their products perform exceptionally well.

Here is some of the equipment that Mares offers:

Mares Scuba Equipment - Regulators

Mares offers several different lines of regulator and each line has its own unique qualities. The regulator you chose depends on the type of diving you do and the features that are most important to you.

Here are your choices:

Proton 12/Proton 42
The two Proton regulators are the Proton 42 and the Proton 12. While the Proton 12 is your basic regulator, the Proton 42 is more advanced and comes in a model designed specifically for women.

Abyss
The Abyss line of regulators feature a special all metal technology that ensures high performance at extreme temperatures. In addition, the 2nd stage uses a vortex assisted design that makes breathing very easy.

Rebel
Are you looking for a solid regulator that can take the strain of being hauled all over the world on marathon diving trips? Then you’ve found it. This regulator is a well-built machine that can take whatever you can dish out.

Prestige
This is the newest Mares design. It’s a high performance regulator that uses a new nanotechnology to redistribute heat and prevent the regulator from freezing in harsh conditions. The Prestige 32 NTT was just released this year, so it might be a little hard to find.

Mares Scuba Equipment - Buoyancy Compensators

Mares have too many buoyancy compensators to mention here, so instead I decided to take a general approach and mention some of the features of Mares’ three major lines: HUB, Air-Trim and Ergo.

HUB
This system is an impressive piece of engineering. No need to buy a BC, regulator, octopus and gauge. This BC has them all. All you have to do is hook it up to your tanks and you’re ready to go.

Air-Trim
This line is a Mares favorite. It eliminates the awkward hose that most BCs have over their left shoulder and replaces it with a sleek low pressure hose and a series of air dumps.

Ergo
This is Mares’ standard line of Buoyancy compensators. Everything on these BCs is designed to be sleek and trim to reduce drag in the water.

Mares Scuba Equipment - Other Equipment

I could go on and on about all the Mares scuba equipment. They have dive computers, dive masks, wetsuits – you name it, they have it.

However I wouldn’t do the company justice if I didn’t mention their best selling dive fin, the Mares Quattro.

Mares Quattro Fins
The Mares Quattro Fin has reached an iconic status and with good reason. These fins have won numerous awards including Tester’s choice awards and Best Buy awards. It’s a great fin that works in a wide range of situations.

You could conceivably be suited in nothing but Mares scuba equipment. They make virtually everything and it’s all great gear.
