Newly Recertified Diver

by Joseph Wesolowski
(Newfields, NH, USA)

I fell in love with diving at the age of 11 in 1961 by watching "Sea Hunt".

I went to work as as golf caddy to earn the money to buy my first SCUBA gear, and was taught to dive by a friend of my father. I eventually realized I wanted to properly learn how to dive so I was certified by New England Divers in Beverly MA. It's too bad their operation, and certification, went by the wayside.

In 1965 I saw the ads for the new Jet Fins by Scubapro and had to have a set. I bought the fins because I needed a fin that would work comfortably with a wet suit booty for the cold New England waters. They worked great, and I used them for several years as I continued to dive.

My biggest problem was finding a buddy, and when I discovered girls I put aside SCUBA diving for over thirty-five years. However, I have continued to snorkel all my life.

This past spring I had a chance to do a PADI discover dive in Curasao N.A. I was instantly hooked again and signed up to become recertified for open water diving through PADI.

I needed new equipment from head to ankle, but my Scubapro Jet fins were ready to go as they have been since I originally bought them. Based on the quality of these outstanding fins I am purchasing a USED Scubapro BCD and regulator from a local dive shop to begin diving again.

I have had the oportunity to try out the BCD and regulator and they worked like new.

Am I committed fanatic? Maybe, but I know good stuff when I use it.

Thank you for making such great products.

Sincerely,
Joseph Wesolowski
